Project Overview:

Contract artist to create 2D vector-based game ready assets. Contracts ranged from background assets to item assets and character design and animations for 1920’s style-inspired game: Monochrome RPG.

ANIMATING the Hyena Sisters:

The Hyena Sisters were intended to be perceived as “creepy” - as such, their mannerisms are heavily inspired by The Grady Sister from The Shining - however since their backstory claims they are comedians, some of their moves draw from comedians that were famous in the 1920s such as Groucho Marx. It was approved by creative leads and shareholders that each sister would have separate, distinct personalities, this diversity between the Hyena Sisters provided a unique opportunity to expand upon animation options.

ANIMATING squeaky squirrel:

Per the character background story, this character was intended to be rotund yet acrobatic. To accomplish this, the rotund aspect of the character was referenced heavily in the OW idle animations as well as the OW walk animations. However, for the battle animations, these focused more on the character’s acrobatic skills - this also added more character to the animations.
